We have something brewing…

Liam’s very excited to announce that he’s going to be a big brother this summer!

The Fraternal Bonds of Boyhood

Liam has managed to reach the ripe old age of two without any skinned knees, or bloody noses. Today, however, he decided it was time to become a real big boy, and take the plunge…

I’m sure this isn’t the last time we’ll be seeing that face! With a little TLC, and a wet wash cloth, he went right back to playing. Our baby is officially a boy!

WAIT… when did that happen?

Our beautiful son turned TWO! Hard to believe. Although, when asked, Liam often tells us that he’s actually five… not two. If it weren’t for his lack of communication skills, I may believe him.

Somehow our tiny little baby, has turned into a large, loud, messy, brave, creative, adventurous, loving and empathetic little boy! Although, we do  get a glimpse of that baby every now and then…

Liam is growing like a weed, and makes sure we are aware of it by climbing on everything, reaching things that were out of reach a month ago, and angrily reminding us when his clothes are too tight.

He loves to count – his favorite numbers are 2 and 5, and you can usually catch him counting in only the way he prefers… “two, five, six… EIGHT NINE TEN!” We’re still trying to find those missing numbers.

He is dying to get outside and play, and curses the sky (in Toddlerese) anytime it rains or snows.  I can’t blame him – Mom and Dad are ready to play outside too.

Liam loves to help around the house with cleaning, “folding” laundry, and cooking. He even has his own broom and dust pan to help with the dog hair and dirt! Liam’s favorite thing to make with Mama are muffins. He loves to dump in the ingredients and stir (or “shir”) them together.  I’m not sure if he likes the process, or the end result more.

He also has taken to anything with wheels. He flies around the house on his ride-on bumble bee, loves his trains, cars, and trucks, and always suggests that HE drive the car when we go somewhere. Liam has already become a backseat driver and is always telling me when I should stop and when I should go based on the light color.

Oh he has his typical two-year-old moments, but we couldn’t ask for a sweeter little boy. He’s not too shy to tell you that he’s a sweet boy, either (You can blame the parents for his two-year-old ego).
